This is such a simple photo ---but it's compelling thanks to the photographers' a deft touch with composition an dlighting.

Still life with Worn Gears

I love how this photographer managed to imbue this photograph with not only a warm, soft light, but also a feeling of a rich, traditional, oil-painted still-life... with a decidedly untraditional subject.

I have no musical ability (really, it's terrible, clapping in rhythm can be a challenge), but I've stumbled across some great musical photos lately.

The whole and the sum of the parts

Before I leave colors all together, I figured out how to embed a slide show

of one of my favorite, slightly quirky flickr groups. The goal: coordinate your photograph to the one before it in the pool, so the colors slowly blend into each other.



I like some of the photos better than others, but its always interesting to see what people will post next. And I like the idea that its not about each individual picture, but how they all fit together.

Neutrals... or not

I'm too tired to winter to do posts for the neutrals right now. Maybe I'll do gray and brown sometime when the whole world doesn't look so gray-brown
